We had a great October & November at the Hub, with youth being able to access medical care through Dr.Gupta, harm reduction & substance use support through Ceiliah & Chelsea from LCSS and WIlma from Astra! We also had art projects led by Youth Unlimited along with their support, housing and family issue support through Alison from MCFD as well as housing & employment support with Corey from the Division of Family Practice along with Phoenix and Jen from ESS. In addition, we also had Aboriginal Cultural Lessons with John White from ACYMH which included smoking salmon. And we welcomed Grandma Joy to the Hub with John in November as well. And of course, we also had visits from Annette and Kyah the therapy dog from St.John's Ambulance.
Along with the regular resources and support we had available to access, we had some great programming as well! We had youth from the McCreary Society lead a grant writing workshop and also had Fraser Health and LCSS host Naloxone training, which 16 youth attended! We now have 16 Naloxone Ninjas at the Hub!
And of course, we had some delicious dinners as well! Thanks goes out to Petra, Mary Anne and Bonnie along with everyone else who came from NightShift to help out with cooking.
We are so excited for what it to come at the Hub! Stay tuned for more information and updates!
